By prioritizing diverse perspectives, we benefit ALL of the university’s community. It is now a matter of professional practice for both students and faculty to actively work to understand the labour, the challenges, and the historical importance of creative output from BIPOC communities.

For this online panel, award-winning documentary photographers Pat Kane and Liam Maloney will discuss the access, power and privilege that is negotiated between photographer, subject and audience as it relates to their photo practices. Sharing experiences of working in conflict zones and in underserved communities, Kane and Maloney will discuss their understanding of the power dynamics that exist for all photographers and what strategies they employ to ensure ethical representation within their work.
