Mapping Colour by Abygail De Leon

In this series, I wanted to focus on documenting colour. Specifically, the tones of colour seen in nature. Some questions that I kept in mind when creating this series was how many hues were similar to one another. As well as how light and shadows dan affect its appearance. I often associate certain colours when thinking of nature and I wanted to explore these themes in my work by seeing the repetitions of these values. To depict these hues in my photographs I decided to display them as paint swatches. I like the irony of comparing something natural to something artificial. I wanted to match the colours seen in the images to the most accurate paint swatches that I could find. The purpose of this project is to see how these colours give us greater insight into our world and how we see it. I wanted to map out the colour from nature as it is something that we experience whenever we go outside but another approach of appreciation.
