Opening Reception: April 2, 7:00 – 10:00pm
April 2 – 11, 2015

THE EXPANDED IMAGE is a selection of work made by third year photography students in a class of the same name. In this course we experiment with widening the definition of photography and exploring hybrid forms. This includes working with the moving image, site-specific installations, and the combination of lens-based media with other forms such as sculpture, drawing and painting, and sound. The exhibition is loosely organized around themes which emerged in these young artist’s work this term: freedom, light and abstraction; the construction of gender, and the transformation of space.
