Taken in Toronto's financial district over a 3-year period, Dylan McArthur's Life & Shadow presents photographs of complex, unscripted scenes with characters both familiar and elusive. The space in which McArthur photographs exhibits a fleeting consciousness propelled by a constant change through time. Trapped in a visual language where the mundane is mysterious, light is revelatory, and shadow is profound; McArthur takes the decisive turn to grasp on photography's possibility of proposing what "might be", and not what simply "is".
